Expanding Pharmaceutical Industry Career Preparedness in Pharmacy Education

Strategic partnerships to bring a more accessible industry preparedness cohort learning to their students and inform their program through cross-institution insights.

Pharmacy education has long been rooted in strong clinical training and patient-centered care. That foundation remains essential to the profession.

At the same time, pharmacists are increasingly contributing across pharmaceutical development, regulatory science, drug safety, medical affairs, and other roles within the pharmaceutical industry.

Many institutions are exploring how to introduce these pathways while maintaining the strengths of their existing curriculum.

Thrive in Pharma Scholars Cohort

The Scholars Program is a structured mentorship and career readiness experience designed for PharmD students exploring pharmaceutical industry careers.

The program focuses on academic and clinical to corporate translation, helping students understand how their PharmD training can apply within the pharmaceutical industry.

Students participate in a guided cohort experience that includes:

  • mentorship and industry education,

  • preparation for pharmaceutical fellowships

  • career positioning guidance

  • cross-institution peer learning

Each cohort includes students from multiple institutions, creating a collaborative learning environment across pharmacy education.

Next cohort start date: May 1, 2026
